Five-Step System

Five-Step System and Integrated Pest Management Solutions

The Modern Pest Service Five-Step System is a unique approach to pest control. Modern's goal is to solve your pest problem while minimizing the amount of pesticides placed in and around your home and business.

Our plan incorporates five steps:

Step 1: Thorough inspections.

We emphasize thorough inspections, since a responsible pest management program can't be developed without determining exactly what and where the pest problem is.

Once the target pest is accurately identified, the IPM professional can choose the most viable and environmentally friendly treatment option. Immediate physical removal of any pest is carefully targeted; proper pest identification is a key component of prevention.

STEP 2: Prevention Measures.

Non-Chemical Monitors, we place Modern Monitors in pest prone locations throughout your home or work place to help pinpoint the "hotspots" of pest activity. This rapidly reduces the current population in your facility, resulting in an immediate and noticeable reduction in activity.

STEP 3: House Keeping.

Changing human behaviour, an integral part of any pest management program is attention to sanitation and hygiene. These aspects are extremely important in making an environment less attractive to pests.

STEP 4: Physical Control.

This includes trapping, proofing, exclusion and other less complex physical approaches such as fly screens, silicone barriers and sticky traps.

Bird exclusion can be achieved by the proofing of entry points, roosting and nesting areas.

STEP 5: Application.

We apply protective barrier to keep out pest invaders. Our Pest Management Inspection Report helps you protect your home and work place by pointing out any conditions that could lead to infestation. Introduction of an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) into the environment for long-term control in the event of a re-infestation.

Our technical expertise is backed by years of experience and supported by specialized training programs our 5-step program can be applied to the home and work place.
